LIFEHOUSE EASY AFTER SOPHOMORE DISAPPOINTMENT
Lifehouse has undergone a re-birth after the success of their song, “You And Me,” and their current single “Blind.” The band was left for dead after they had one of the biggest hits of this decade with “Hanging By A Moment,” which quickly became a burden for band singer/songwriter, Jason Wade. |
Wade and company released Stanley Climbfall, the follow-up album to their debut, No Name Face, but both commercially and airplay-wise it failed to live up to its predecessor. Years later and with a new label, Wade looked at his past as an opportunity for a fresh future. |
“Funny enough, having the second record not perform well as far as record sales and radio acclaim I feel like it was a healthy thing for us to go through in some ways. It was a hard… It was a difficult time period, but at the same time I think having our first record being so young do so well was a lot for us to handle. So, I felt more pressure going into the second record than I did this one, because I felt like I kinda got that monkey off my back. I didn’t follow up ‘Hanging By A Moment,’ which everyone was asking me that question, and I just felt like I had a clean slate. That’s part of the reason why we wanted to just self-title this record.” |
While the self-titled album continues to sell, Lifehouse is set to release their first-ever DVD titled Everything. The collection features a 7 song live performance, interviews, and the band’s videos to date. |
