R&B singer LeToya made a huge statement this week when she beat out industry heavyweight Pharrell Williams to debut at Number One on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. The singer’s self-titled debut album sold over 165,000 copies in its first week in stores which was enough to beat Williams strong sales of 142,000 copies. |
The album features the production of Scott Storch, Walter Millsap, Teddy Bishop and Jermaine Dupri and guest appearances by Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Bun B and Slim Thug. |
“As far as conditioning the vocal chords especially to have longevity in this business you have to…..You just can’t be a singer. You have to know what you’re doing as far as technique goes. She helps with that side of it and thathelps me build my confidence as well.” |
The Houston-based singer, who is currently on Mary J. Blige’s Breakthrough Experience tour, shared that she’s been working with a vocal coach. Letoya explained, |
The singer recently released her second single and video, “She Don’t” featuring Slim Thug. The first single from the album was “Torn.” |
