LETOYA DEBUTS AT NUMBER ONE

(VIDEO) Letoya Luckett debuts at Number One…..

R&B singer LeToya made a huge statement this week when she beat out industry heavyweight Pharrell Williams to debut at Number One on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. The singer’s self-titled debut album sold over 165,000 copies in its first week in stores which was enough to beat Williams strong sales of 142,000 copies.

The album features the production of Scott Storch, Walter Millsap, Teddy Bishop and Jermaine Dupri and guest appearances by Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Bun B and Slim Thug.

“As far as conditioning the vocal chords especially to have longevity in this business you have to…..You just can’t be a singer. You have to know what you’re doing as far as technique goes. She helps with that side of it and thathelps me build my confidence as well.”

The Houston-based singer, who is currently on Mary J. Blige’s Breakthrough Experience tour, shared that she’s been working with a vocal coach. Letoya explained,

The singer recently released her second single and video, “She Don’t” featuring Slim Thug. The first single from the album was “Torn.”
