LETO SONGWRITING NOT COMING FROM MARS
30 Seconds To Mars is out supporting their new album, A Beautiful Lie, and it’s the band’s follow-up to 2002’s self-titled effort. The band is fronted by Jared Leto, who actually played most of the instruments and wrote most of the songs on the first album. Although this album is a more collaborative effort, Leto still had very specific ideas for the songs. |
Leto said that he was very particular about songs, and he was patient until the band, engineers and everyone producing A Beautiful Lie saw things his way. |
“I think the difficult part is when you have a very clear vision for something and then you get different ideas thrown at you that might change the direction. Sometimes that’s a good thing, and sometimes you just have to be patient and hopefully people will come around and see that you had an idea of what was going on and it might work.” |
Leto said that Leto had to trust the other members of 30 Seconds To Mars, and the other members had to trust him. |

30 Seconds To Mars will be on the road through May 28 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their song “The Kill” continues to move up the Alternative Charts. |
