The legendary Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead talks about the upcoming documentary called ‘Lemmy’ and which of his friends has joined the project. |
Legendary bassist and vocalist Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, will forever be immortalized in an upcoming documentary simply titled ‘Lemmy.’ The documentary, which was produced and directed by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski captures Lemmy and bandmates as they tour around the world with their hard driving Rock N Roll and in the studio recording their upcoming new album. ‘Lemmy’ which is slated to have a theatrical release in 2009, will feature appearances from Dave Grohl, Slash, Mick Jones of The Clash, Steve Vai, Alice Cooper and a few other of Lemmy’s closest friends in the business. |
We caught up with Lemmy to get his thoughts on being flattered about the upcoming documentary and how he feels the producers are getting a lot of great footage. |
“I just think it’s really nice you know obviously I’m really flattered. From the bits I’ve seen of it, it seems to be really good. They’re pretty good at camouflaging themselves, even the big lad. He’s pretty good at sneaking around with the surprise lens, pops up. They are very good on stage. They didn’t interfere at all. They got some great stuff.” |
Lemmy also talked about having some of his closest friends, like Dave Grohl and Steve Vai take part in the documentary as well. |
“Yeah I like Dave a lot. Dave is one of nature’s gentlemen you know. Same as like Steve Vai, he’s another one. Some guys you meet in this business who manage to get through it without becoming an asshole, which is quite an achievement.” |
Lemmy and Motorhead are currently finishing the recording of their upcoming album and the title will be ‘Motorize.’ The album was recorded at Dave Grohl’s studio in Los Angeles and is due to released in August 2008. Motorhead are set to perform at Europe on the summer festival circuit before heading out on the road in the Metal Masters Tour, alongside Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell and Testament. |
