Comedian, actress and former Saturday Night Live scribe Laura Kightlinger has appeared in such films as Anchor Man and the upcoming Black Dahlia opposite Josh Hartnett but you’ll never get to see her in either of those films. For some reason Laura says her scenes always seem to wind up on the cutting room floor.

The deleted scene queen says she was safe in Tenacious D due to her eight year relationship with the film’s star Jack Black. Still good friends Laura says their romance was not always for laughs.

“I was a hooker in that movie and apparently I guess that’s not very integral to the actual plot of a movie about hookers. One hooker is actually the story I guess. But yeah I’m not in that. I guess our scene was Josh was up all night. He’s a detective and he’s really tired. In the script it said that he was zombie like. He asked Brian DePalma if he looked tired enough and Brian DePalma said, ‘you seem like a zombie.’ I just thought that was kind of funny.”

Laura’s new job in The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman is guaranteed as she is the writer, creator and star, debuting August 4 at 10PM on IFC.rn

“Whenever I told that to someone they’d say, ‘didn’t you laugh all the time?’ That would make us insane if we were laughing all the time. Laughing about, ‘would you like some toast?’ I was telling this to a friend. He usually had a rubber chicken on his penis and I had a buzzer on my hand and that’s how we had sex. That was our relationship, a laugh a minute.”

“There are so many things I could potentially be cut out of. There’s a movie called, which I imagine they might change the title of called The Verbal Intercourse. I’ll be shooting that in August and you won’t see me in that. I don’t even know yet. They asked for me right away so maybe I’m cut out of it already. There’s a John Malkovich movie and I know I won’t be in that because I won’t get an audition. But yeah a lot of things ahead that you won’t see me in.”
