KT TUNSTALL AND HER KIDNEYS READY FOR CAMPFIRE TOUR
KT Tunstall and her kidneys are ready for her just announced Campfire Tour, which starts May 3. |
KT Tunstall is set to embark on her Campfire Tour, which will take her on her most extensive run through the U.S. yet. It starts May 3 in San Diego, California, and it provides a unique opportunity to see her perform intimate acoustic versions of her songs from Drastic Fantastic, her Acoustic Extravaganza record, and her best-selling 2006 debut Eye to the Telescope. Despite the acoustic instrumentation she assures the set is going to rock. |
Artists from the U.K. are usually not willing to work so hard in the U.S., but Tunstall always seems to have the proper work ethic. One thing that had been stopping her from an extensive tour like the Campfire Tour was the weak condition of her kidneys. We asked her about it and the surgery she underwent to help alleviate the problem. |
“Yeah, I’ve had infections in my kidneys since I was a kid, and apparently this was always going to happen, particularly, if I was caning my body pretty hard. Touring is hard on a body for sure. There’s a lot of drinking, there’s a lot of late nights. It’s not a health farm. I’m not going to….I make it back to the bus after the gig, let’s put it that way. It was a little too much stress on my body for a couple of years, and it quickened something up that was going to happen anyways with my kidney with my water works. I just had the little operation to fix it. It was very simple. It took an hour, and I was eating hospital mushroom soup an hour later. So, I’m fine. I’m really grateful, but when that hits you it really scares you.” |
Tunstall’s Campfire Tour tickets go on sale March 7, and dates are currently booked through May. Fans can check out the itinerary at KTTunstall.comrn |
