KORNS DAVIS RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL, FAMILY VALUES TOUR WILL GO ON

Korn front man Jonathan Davis was hospitalized in London this past weekend with a blood ailment. Due to his hospitalization KoRn were forced to cancel because Davis has been ordered by doctors not to perform for several weeks, basically canceling dates through July 2 in Leipzig, Germany. The band is hoping to reschedule the shows later this year and Davis’ illness is not expected to affect the band’s Family Values Tour, which is due to begin July 27 in Virginia Beach, VA. |
Korn, the originators of the initial Family Values Tour, are getting ready to join the tour again after a few years away and the band has brought an incredible lineup of todays hottest hard rock bands with them. In what used to be a crossover tour which featured both hard rock and hip hop acts like DMX, Eminem, Method Man, Redman and Limp Bizkit, The Family Values Tour has gone to being a tour more geared towards rock and roll. This years line up features Korn, The Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf and Dir En Grey with more bands yet to be announced for the second stage. We recently caught up with Munky and David to talk about the bands connection to rock and hip hop and how they are stepping back as a band. |
“You know rap and the hip hop thing, that’s been going on for a long time now. I recently bought a record, it’s called Anthrax a lot of people remember them. The did a collaboration with Public Enemy. And a lot of people have done it before. This is a time that we have stepped back from the music side of it. it kind of started to get played out. We kind of wanted to include it in our video. It was just a cool idea. We’re just going to play rock and roll from now on.” |
Recently at The Download Festival this past weekend, Davis was forced to miss the date, but his band mates guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer, basist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu and drummer David Silveria went on with the show at Saturday’s Download Festival recruiting some vocal help from several other bands on the bill like Slipknot/Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor, Jesse Hasek of 10 Years, Matt from Trivium, M. Shadlows from Avenged Sevenfold and Benji Webbe of Skindred. |
