KORN WELCOMES THE PRESS, THEN HAS CEMETERY PARTY
Korn announced its tour in creepy fashion on Friday with a press conference and later on an all-star studded party at the the Hollywood Forever cemetery in Los Angeles. The cemetery features plots and memorials to some of the finest entertainment and music has ever seen, and the event took place just outside where the late Johnny Ramone resides. |
The band arrived in a hearst, and although singer Jonathan Davis was in the funeral business, guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer and drummer David Silveria were a little bit new to that mode of transportation. |
[Silveria] “My ass hurt. It was as uncomfortable as hell. We should have taken his (Munky’s)Phantom. [Shaffer] “It was cool because I’ve never actually ridden in a hearst. I think there’s probably only going to be one other time that I’ll ride in one… [Silveria] That’s the ride back to the studio. [Shaffer] “That’s the ride right back here when I die.” |
Korn announced that their tour in support of their latest release, See You On The Other Side, will begin February 24th in Bakersfield. Opening for Korn will be 10 Years and Mudvayne. |
[Munky] “Our manager mentioned it. [Silvera] “He wears black all the time too so that tells you something.” [Munky] “I think he really wants to be a mortician, and I think he feels at home here. And I think we wanted to do something unique and special and something that was kind of an extension of an invitation to the tour and kind of give you a little bit of insight to what to expect on the new tour.” |
