KORN VOX DAVIS WANTS HEAD, ORIGINAL BAND, AND PROGRESS
Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis wants Head back in the band, the original members and progress, but he says it may be time for a temporary rest. |
Korn is currently touring Europe in support of its latest, untitled, release without Munky, which leaves the only two original members on this leg; Vocalist Jonathan Davis and bassist Fieldy. Many fans are hinting that the band is done or that they should call it quits without guitarist Munky, but according to published reports he has an ill father he needs to be home with. He is not leaving the band. |
The thought of Munky leaving is not a pleasant thought for Korn fans to swallow, but neither was the departure of Head and David. Davis said he’d give anything to have Head back, and have the original five-piece, but he realizes the band is bigger than its members. |
“I’d love Head to come back. The door is always open. It’s gotta be the right time, the right place, and he’s got to be in the right state of mind and want to do it and be able to do it. I miss him dearly, man. I’d love to have all five of us back. I miss it so much. We’re adapting as a band, and Korn is me, Munky and Fieldy now. We’re touring more as an entity more or less than the members. Korn’s about what Korn’s about. We have revolving players come in, but we haven’t had a player play with us yet that we would consider making a member of Korn. It’s about jamming out with them and sensing things out and seeing what’s right.” |
With Korn on the road in Europe what does the rest of 2008 have in store? |
“Doing a World Tour with Korn. That will be done in April. Then we take a little time off. I’m going to do a couple of more solo tours. I’m going to do one in the States again and one in Europe, and then we’re going to start to write a Korn record after that. So Korn’s going to take some four or five months off. We need to. It’s been fourteen solid years straight, We haven’t taken that much time off, ever, and we need to take the time and regroup and do an amazing record.” |
As mentioned Jonathan Davis will be bringing his solo tour back to the U.S. and to Europe, but those dates have not been announced at press time. |
