KNOCKED UP FRIENDS SUPPORT SETH ROGEN

Seth Rogen’s real life friends plays his movie friends in Knocked Up.

Knocked Up leading man Seth Rogen has rallied his real life friends together to play his roommates and best buds in the movie. It wasn’t that difficult to remember who’s who because everyone kept their real names for their characters. The improvisation came naturally as they know each other so well.<

Jason Segel describes the personality assigned to Rogen’s friends for the film.

“I’m basically a self-centered, womanizing chauvenistic. Jay kind of plays a weakish character and Jonah plays a real acerbic witted sarcastic character. And Martin plays Martin’s usual character which is just the most amazing deadpan you’ve ever seen in your life. He’s a comic genius. And so between the four of us, it’s sort of you got Ben in the middle and the four of us as extremes surrounding him. It’s fun to play.”

Jay Baruchel says he’s happy for his friend’s well deserved success.

“Well number one he’s killing it. He’s hitting it out of the park. Well clearly all the comedy scenes he’s the funniest guy on earth. But he’s really killing the dramatic stuff so more than anything I’m just really, really proud of him because there was a period there where he was really writing way more than he was acting. People weren’t paying attention to his acting. And then that changed when he did Virgin. And so seeing him starring in this movie, it’s amazing.”

Knocked Up opens today in theaters.
