KITTIE ALBUM HAS ROUGH DEBUT, BETTER NET RESULTS
Kittie’s just released album, Funeral For Yesterday, was the 8th best selling debut this week, good enough for a debut at Number 101 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band fared much better on the internet, where it debuted at Number 20 on the iTunes Pop Albums chart. |
Kittie’s Mercedes and Morgan Lander realize the net is where their fans are, and lurk. |
[Mercedes] “You know there are so many instances that I… We just have amazing fans.” [Morgan] “We have a great community online. People that travel to the ends of the earth to actually see the band. I actually think the nicest thing I’ve actually experienced someone do was for the very first day of our recording session, somebody from our message board sent us a bottle of champagne to the studio.” [Mercedes] “Mind you this is a private studio. They don’t have the address posted online or anything like that. He researched it. He found…He lurked the internet and he found the address and called and actually got the address and sent us this really nice bottle of wine.” [Morgan] “Congratulatory.” |
The duo also shared that their fanbase is literally family. |
[Mercedes] “Morgan and I are also… There’s a couple from Texas that actually met at a Kittie show, and they’re now married and they have two kids. I’m the godmother of their first kid and Morgan is the godmother of their second.” [Morgan] “It’s a big family affair.” [Mercedes] “All the kids come out to the show…mom and dad.” |
Kittie is currently touring with Walls Of Jericho and 36 Crazyfists. Funeral For Yesterday was released on their independent X of Infamy label. |
