KILLSWITCH ENGAGE NEW ALBUM DAYLIGHT, MEANS MORE NIGHTLIFE
Killswitch Engage is set to release their new album titled As Daylight Dies, this week. It’s the band’s follow-up to The End Of Heartache, which came out in 2004. The band has toured relentlessly in support of their last record, and has already hit the road in support of the new effort. |
Drummer Justin Foley, with guitarist Joel Stroezel by his side, talked about how they view the album As Daylight Dies. |
“You know we worked very hard on the album, and we wanted to make the songs as good as they can be and record them as good as they can be, but it still comes down to it when you go out ther and we play the live show. I think as long as we have a good strong live show, the band will do well and be able to go to other parts of the world and play these crazy shows.” |
The duo also added that changes in the industry further reinforce their emphasis on their live show and playing music for fans. |
“It’s weird. From our point of view we all started doing this because we wanted to play shows and have fun. I think that we still do it because we want to play shows. For us it hasn’t changed a whole lot. We definitely see everything else has changed [business and label wise] in the way… Our last record was leaked months early, and we see how it goes and how all that happens. For the most part we think about…. I know I’m thinking about that when the record comes out we can go on tour and play the songs. That’s kind of the thing that’s in the front of my head with all of this. I think the band still really feels like the live show is what we really want.” |
As Daylight Dies is the band’s fourth album and third for Roadrunner Records. Killswitch Engage has dates booked through November 20 in Providence, Rhode Island. |
