KEVIN BACON BONDS WITH HIS FAMILY

Kevin Bacon bonded even closer to his family playing a father out for vengeance in Death Sentence.

Family is the most important thing to Kevin Bacon which is one of the reasons he took on the role of an every day dad who turns into a crazed killer to avenge the murder of his son in Death Sentence.

Kevin says he would do anything to save his children, but wonders whether he would be brave enough to do what his character does, murdering a gang member one by one.

“Probably not. I mean that I think that mostly I know that I think of myself as a non-violent person. I hope that I don’t answer violence with violence. You know you never know until you’re thrown into that kind of situation; the feelings that you have for your children are very, very deep. It’s the first time in your life when you have kids where you go, ‘OK I will definitely throw myself in front of the bus to save this person’s life.’ What you see in the movie is this guy reacts in a way that has terrible consequences for him and he pretty much loses everything that he loves by the end of the film.”

The story was so brutal that Kevin often visited his wife Kyra Sedgwick and his two children Sosie and Travis while filming just to keep his sanity.

“Keeping them a part of my life and really being able to do that, we were shooting in Columbia, South Carolina and a lot of times I would just fly up if it was all possible for the weekend just for that, just to be able to connect with them. Because you know it’s a movie and it’s just acting and not real but it does infiltrate your head and your mind and your dreams and your heart. I mean there’s just no way around it, when you have to pretend to be in this situation 14, 16 hours a day you’re gonna feel it sooner or later.”

Kevin, the most down to earth actor in show business preferred flying commercial than hitting up his co-star Kelly Preston’s husband John Travolta for a ride in his private jet. Death Sentence is currently playing in theaters.
