KEVIN BACON BONDS WITH HIS FAMILY
Kevin Bacon bonded even closer to his family playing a father out for vengeance in Death Sentence. |
Family is the most important thing to Kevin Bacon which is one of the reasons he took on the role of an every day dad who turns into a crazed killer to avenge the murder of his son in Death Sentence. |
Kevin says he would do anything to save his children, but wonders whether he would be brave enough to do what his character does, murdering a gang member one by one. |
“Probably not. I mean that I think that mostly I know that I think of myself as a non-violent person. I hope that I don’t answer violence with violence. You know you never know until you’re thrown into that kind of situation; the feelings that you have for your children are very, very deep. It’s the first time in your life when you have kids where you go, ‘OK I will definitely throw myself in front of the bus to save this person’s life.’ What you see in the movie is this guy reacts in a way that has terrible consequences for him and he pretty much loses everything that he loves by the end of the film.” |
The story was so brutal that Kevin often visited his wife Kyra Sedgwick and his two children Sosie and Travis while filming just to keep his sanity. |
“Keeping them a part of my life and really being able to do that, we were shooting in Columbia, South Carolina and a lot of times I would just fly up if it was all possible for the weekend just for that, just to be able to connect with them. Because you know it’s a movie and it’s just acting and not real but it does infiltrate your head and your mind and your dreams and your heart. I mean there’s just no way around it, when you have to pretend to be in this situation 14, 16 hours a day you’re gonna feel it sooner or later.” |
Kevin, the most down to earth actor in show business preferred flying commercial than hitting up his co-star Kelly Preston’s husband John Travolta for a ride in his private jet. Death Sentence is currently playing in theaters. |
