KEENEN IVORY WAYANS PRAISES HIS BROTHERS’ TALENT
As the big brother of the Wayans clan, Keenen Ivory Wayans has been the one behind the camera filming his younger brothers’ antics in such films as White Chicks and Scary Movie 2, and now Little Man. It all began with In Living Color with a virtually unknown comic named Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans. Other than the rubber faced Carrey, Keenen says only his two brothers could’ve pulled off the role of the baby convict. |
Keenen says Shawn’s fatherly role was made easy by the young star Linden Porco who was the stand-in for Marlon’s little man character Calvin. |
“I think there’s like Marlon, Damon and Jim Carrey are the three people that I think could pull off something like this which is a character that is a human cartoon but at the same time you still connect to him. You don’t lose him in the cartoon. You still relate to him as a human being and I think those are the only three guys that I know that have that kind of talent.” |
Little Man also features Saturday Night Live comedians Molly Shannon and Tracy Morgan. |
“He got to work with all the fun, funny people. And he got to work with Linden. Linden made it easy because he’s such a lovable kid. He made it easy for Shawn to want this little kid. It probably would’ve been harder if it were Marlon that he had to pretend was this cute little baby.” |
