KEANE READY TO UNLEASH IRON SEA

(VIDEO) Keane is ready to unveil their follow-up to Hopes And Fears. Under The Iron Sea is set for release later this Spring, but it wasn’t without a few obstacles….

Keane is set to release their new album Under The Iron Sea on June 20, and the first single from the effort will likely be the adventurous, “Atlantic.”

Under The Iron Sea is a self-professed dark album, and it follows in the footsteps of the hugely successful Hopes And Dreams. The band’s Tom Chaplin talked about what the biggest obstacle in making the collection was.

“Touring, and probably… In a way it was ourselves, but at the same time we all felt we had this thing inside us that we had to kind of release, you know, and get out onto record. I think if you spend three years on the road at some point you begin to crack and really want to have a new record out there and new songs and new ideas and new things to try out. We really wanted to do that, so as soon as touring finished we sort of got straight in there.”

Keane has played a few secret gigs so far, but they’ve already got festival appearances lined up for the Sonic Festival in Japan, Rock Im Ring and Rock Im Park in Germany, and the V Festival on their home turf in the U.K.
