KATY PERRY ON DATING WARPED TOUR BOYS, HYGIENE, AND GWEN STEFANI

Katy Perry is the a female based artist in a boys’ world on Warped Tour, and she discussed tour romance, hygiene and following No Doubt’s lead.

Katy Perry is set to embark on her first tour, the Warped Tour, which will be filled with the latest and greatest in punk rock. The tour starts next week in California and features The Academy Is…, Angels And Airwaves, Gym Class Heroes, Every Time I Die and others.

Despite her hit song “I Kissed A Girl” she actually likes men and was asked if the Warped Tour had the guys she likes and if she could see her getting a man or two on the trek.

“I’ll pick up a couple, I’m sure. I don’t know. Honestly, I thought I had a style, but I really don’t concerning men. My only vice is musicians. I’m kind of attracted to musicians; sexy, like, guys that rule the stage or play guitar. It’s amazing when you go to a concert, that’s what makes me so inspired as a musician, is watching other people at live shows. It’s amazing to… like I went to a Mika show a couple of nights ago, and that show is amazing right now. Seeing everybody’s face and people making out in the corner, excited and smiling, and not giving a care about how they look and what they’re doing. They’re just kind of like letting loose, and that is a great feeling. To make people get out of their comfort zone.”

She said her biggest concern on the tour is hygiene.

“Well, I’m scared because I heard that you don’t get to shower everyday, so I’ll be bringing baby powder everywhere. If you’re coming to Warped Tour please bring me perfume bottles. It’s going to be a lot of boys, a lot of smelly boys. It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m excited.”

For inspiration on the tour she’s hoping to follow in the footsteps of Gwen Stefani, who fronted No Doubt on the tour years ago.

“I did a little bit of research. I know that No Doubt did Warped Tour way back in the day. I saw her on it and I was inspired by her early years with ‘Don’t Speak’ and all that classic No Doubt stuff. She rocked it, so I’m hoping to try and step in her shoes a little bit on Warped and ten years later have a hot husband, a couple of babies, rule the world.”

Katy Perry’s much anticipated debut album, One Of The Boys, comes out June 17.
