KATY PERRY BECOMES TREND SETTER
Katy Perry is now an international star, and she talked with us about taking chances and being a trendsetter. |
Katy Perry is perhaps the hottest international recording artists topping charts in both the U.S. and overseas. Her unique style was noticed early on by icon Madonna, and the tunes “Ur So Gay” and “I Kissed A Girl” propelled her to becoming a household name. |
Perry has a unique style and she talked about being a trendsetter. |
“I just think I wanna entertain and present myself in a manner where people wanna, you know, like, ‘What is she doing next? What is she wearing? How did she look? Where did she get that dress?’ I do want to be a trendsetter.” |
She said part of being a trend setter is taking chances. |
“You know, I’m always taking chances, making bold movies and wearing stupid Lolita glasses throughout a whole interview, which I probably shouldn’t be — but she’s kind of like my style icon. I like to mix and match. I do a lot of the 1940’s look, you know the pin-up girl, but then I like to do the rocker Joan Jett or the electro, retro, ghetto… I don’t know. Whatever looks good is what my mom said. Whatever looks good. It doesn’t matter what’s in style. I don’t necessarily like to follow the trend.” |
Katy Perry has just released her new single “Hot N Cold,” but it will be tough to dethrone “I Kissed A Girl,” which has spent seven weeks at Number One. The video for the clip has been nominated for Best Female Video and Best New Artist for the MTV Awards, which takes place next month in Los Angeles.rn |
