KATE BURTON TONY OMEN IS A MOUSE

(VIDEO) Kate Burton can thank a mouse in her apartment for her Tony nomination.

The theater is rife with superstition so when Kate Burton was nominated for a Tony as best actress in the play The Constant Wife she credited a mouse in her apartment as her good luck charm.

Perhaps she’ll thank the critter if she wins! Kate shared the good news with her daughter Charlotte who was given the day off from school.

“And what did I do? I took a taxi a work. And actually the other little omen that I had is four years ago when I was nominated for Hedda Gabbler in The Elephant Man I had a mouse in my apartment and suddenly the other day I have a mouse in my apartment because they’re doing construction upstairs. And I thought ‘maybe I’ll get a Tony nomination!’ Yeah so it was an omen.”

One of those women just happens to be her co-star in The Constant Wife Lynn Redgrave who was also nominated for best actress in the play.rnrn

“I kept my daughter home from school to listen to the nominations and we had bacon and eggs. It was just great. I was so thrilled. I had a hope that it would happen but I didn’t know. I had been keeping tabs on everybody. I’m a Tony voter so I see all the shows and I’d seen all the performances. I’m just so thrilled to be with this group of women.”
