KANYE WEST TO PERFORM AT GRAMMY AWARDS
Kanye West ruined Taylor Swift’s night at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night during her acceptance speech. |
Kanye West is the first confirmed performer for the Grammy Awards which are scheduled for February 8th in Los Angeles. While the rapper is confirmed, he still hasn’t shared which song he will perform with the show’s producers. More performers and presenters will be announced in the coming days. |
West, who is for eight Grammy Awards, explained that he’s been aiming for one particular Grammy since he began recording his latest album, Late Registration. He told MTV.com, “It’s like [Michael] Jordan. That first year when he comes out and they win a championship it’s like, ‘OK, yeah, that’s good.’ But that second year he has to set new goals, he says, ‘No, I want this, I’m going for this.’ So when I worked on [Late Registration] I kept on saying to [producer] Jon [Brion], ‘Are you ready to win Album of the Year?'” |
West will be competing against Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, Gwen Stefani, and U2 in the Album Of The Year category. The rapper’s other nominations include record of the year (“Golddigger”), best rap song (“Diamonds”), and best rap album. |
