KANYE SAYS NFL KICK-OFF IS GOOD DIVERSION FROM NEW ORLEANS

Kanye West was on hand at the NFL Kick-off event before making appearances on the fundraising telethons of network TV on Friday and and MTV on Sunday to raise money for the victims of hurricaine Katrina.<

Kanye, who is partially doing all the promotional appearances in support of his new album Late Registration, said that in times like these people need entertainment.<

“Everybody is doing something to help so the NFL has definitely taken responsibility and I don’t want to detract from the show or anything but this is entertainment and a lot of times in a time of need we need entertainment to lift people’s spirits so I want people to come out the the show and have a good time at the end of the day.”

In the NFL’s Kickoff Event on Thursday night (September 8) the defending champions got a great start in defending their crown. The New England Patriots beat the Oakland Raiders by the score of 30-20.<

West participated in the opening kick-off special with Maroon 5, Good Charlotte, Green Day, The Rolling Stones and Santana among others.
