Kal Penn, best known for Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle travels to England’s Oxford University to further his studies and improve student morale in Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj. |
Kal says he learned his lessons well from Van Wilder four years ago. |
“Taj has gone through four years of learning what Van had taught him so he hasn’t assimilated so he’s come into his own personal greatness as it were. That sense of individuality that makes somebody cool whether they don’t really care what other people think. He’s still quirky but he’s more confident hopefully from the lessons that Van taught him.” |
Van Wilder might’ve given him more confidence to be a leader among freshman men but Taj still bleeds like anyone else. During a paintball scene shot in Bucharest, Romania Kal felt lost in translation. |
“There was a paintball scene and for probably a half an hour we all went around saying, ‘there are no real paintballs being fired, right?’ Everyone seemed to agree and I guess our translators were cool with everything and then we start shooting the scene and real paintballs are coming out of these guns and we’re supposed to be running away from them so at least we weren’t running towards them but I got smacked in the ass a couple of times.” |
Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj opens today in theaters. |
