KAISER CHIEFS AND BLUNT UP FOR BRIT AWARDS
(VIDEO) Kaiser Chiefs and James Blunt were among the top nominees for the Brit Awards, which were announced earlier this week. The band said it wasn’t bad for an low-budget album and promised the next one would be better! |
Kaiser Chiefs and James Blunt were the leading nominees for the 2006 Brit Awards with five each. The The Kaisers and Blunt both recieved five nominations each. |
Blunt was nominated for Male Solo Artist, Album, Breakthrough Act, Single and Pop Act. The Kaiser Chiefs were nominated for Group, Album, Rock Act, Breakthrough Act and Live Act. Regarding their nominated album, Employment, vocalist Ricky Wilson talked about that recording process and talked about the band’s follow-up. |
“It was written very quickly, and it was recorded even quicker. But we toured it, and we toured it, and we recorded it, and we just got the record deal. It wasn’t an expensive album to make and it was an album that was about what we were going through then. And people say, now you’re working on stuff for your next album, and we don’t know when it’s going to be released. It’s not going to be released until it’s better than the first one. That’s when I’m going to release an album. We don’t want to rush to release one. If we wrote a song today and then put it in an album that’s going to be released in ten month’s time, it probably wouldn’t have the relevance that it should have.” |
Kaiser Chiefs are set to tour Europe at the end of February hitting Spain, France, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, Germany and Norway. |
