JULIANNE MOORE’S LIFE IS ON SCREEN IN TRUST THE MAN
(VIDEO) Married to screenwriter and director Bart Freundlich, Trust The Man star Julianne Moore’s life wound up on screen. |
When your husband is a director and a writer nothing is sacred in the household which is how very personal experiences of actress Julianne Moore wound up in the film Trust The Man written and directed by her husband Bart Freundlich. Julianne plays a famous actress and the wife of David Duchovny in the film who deprives herself of carbs and winds up choking on a piece of cake that she has inhaled. Julianne says the scene was taken from her own life. |
Another fun scene in the film is when her movie son is hitting a ball with a wooden spoon that is pitched by Duchovny in the kitchen; only the spoon finds another target, Julianne’s face. Having two kids of her own, she says getting hit is a regular occurrence. |
“That was based on something that actually happened to me because Bart’s birthday is in January and it’s always kind of around the Golden Globes and you’re always nervous you don’t really eat. I was waiting for Bart to do something and I was slicing a piece of cake until I sucked it in and choked. So we put it in the movie because we thought it would be fun.” |
Another scene that was taken from Julianne’s past is her Broadway co-star constantly trying to make a play for her backstage which she says was all too common in her own life. Trust The Man opens Friday. |
“Spoon ball that’s something else. In my house anything that goes with a ball. Anything that you can hit with a ball, throw with a ball or whatever. My biggest pet peeve is throwing the ball in the car which happens a lot. I’m like, ‘no that’s dangerous let’s stop.’ I’m always the one that gets hit with the ball.” |
