JULIANNE MOORE ENJOYS ACTION

Julianne Moore enjoys playing FBI agents like Clarice Starling in Hannibal and Callie Ferris in Next because it’s not often you find a strong woman in charge in an action film who gets the job done, capturing Nicolas Cage.

Julianne did mostly all of her own stunts except for the tough landings.

“All the running and there’s a toss where Nic has to kind of pull me out of the way when a car’s coming down. He sort of grabs me and at that point that’s my body that flies up and kind of over so it was kind of like a flip toss. That was a lot of fun. The person who you see land is the stunt double because I don’t do the landing. They do the tough part. I get to do the fun part.”

In Next the action sequences involve huge explosions, helicopters flying overhead and plenty of gunfire to watch out for.

“We did a lot of work with fire and with blanks and stuff and they go off pretty close to your face. You have to be careful. You have to keep your eyes open. It’s not something you can be cavalier about.”
