JULIA STILES SPY GAMES FOR BOURNE ULTIMATUM

Julia Stiles is more of a hands-on spy in The Bourne Ultimatum.

Julia Stiles reprises her role as CIA operative Nicky Parsons who finds herself helping Jason Bourne escape the black ops once again in The Bourne Ultimatum.

This time Julia takes on a defensive role realizing the operation that she’s working under has become questionable.

“She’s much more active in this film because she decides she’s not gonna take it anymore, she’s gonna forge her own path and when she runs into Jason Bourne again she quickly hatches a plan to have him help her escape. In terms of the spy stuff there’s nothing I relate to there. I would be a terrible spy. I’m terrible with computers. I have tunnel vision. I am not good at surveying a crowd. And I would get distracted by sightseeing if I were traveling to all these foreign countries as an operative.”

Julia travels with Bourne to Tangier, Morocco in pursuit of the truth of his identity which leads to a high spirited chase through the crowded streets of the market place.

“The chase sequence in Morocco a lot of happy accidents happened. They had a loud speaker that was playing the call to prayer about five times a day which we ended up actually using in the film. And those weren’t extras in the Modena. Those were actual people going grocery shopping and trying to get home so I could react to a crowd and try and hide in a crowd that was not full of actors. That helps a lot.”

Julia trained for the movie with 9mm Glocks, the weapon her character uses and did most of her own fighting scenes with plenty of padding to keep her bruise-free. Julia is currently filming Gospel Hill with Danny Glover and Angela Bassett about a town struggling with its racist past. The Bourne Ultimatum opens Friday in theaters.
