JULIA ROBERTS SEES HUMAN SOCIETY IN ANT BULLY
(VIDEO) Julia Roberts took on the voice of Nurse Ant Hova in The Ant Bully because of it’s human lessons. |
Julia Roberts stars as the voice of Nurse Ant Hova in The Ant Bully. When Tom Hanks decided to turn his son’s favorite bedtime story into an animated feature, he sent a copy to Julia who immediately responded to the insect’s human qualities of kindness and compassion. |
Julia says we as human beings can learn a lot about ourselves through the workings and teamwork of the animated ant colony. |
“Especially for me Hova, I just loved her thoughtfulness. She just really takes her time and considers things. She’s so fair and I think she’s what we all should aspire to be more of, peaceful and compassionate, kind and understanding. I also loved the idea of a little boy who gets picked on and turns to pick on something else and gets shown this greater image of what life is.” |
As the mother of twins it certainly helped Julia tap into the nurturing and maternal instincts that Nurse Ant Hova shows towards the boy who gets shrunk down to insect size when he floods the ant colony in The Ant Bully opening this Friday in theaters nationwide.rn |
“I realize it’s an animated movie and it’s about ants but it really kind of does kind of touch a little bit on the greater political problems that we have that nothing is sort of really tended, everything is just sort of reacted to. When you kind of learn about these ant colonies and how they work and rely on each other and that’s how the whole thing exists and works. I think that’s a good lesson for humans certainly.” |
