Ex-Juice Crew member MC Shan and Roxanne Shante are looking for new talent to join the squad and re-introduce the legendary hip hop group. |
Founded by producer Marley Marl under his label Cold Chllin’ Records, the Juice Crew was one of the pioneering rap groups of the mid 1980’s, and was, The group consisted of members Marley Marl, Kool G. Rap, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Craig G., Masta Ace, Roxanne Shante and MC Shan, and is remembered for the classic hip hop joint “The Symphony.” |
Since then each member embarked on solo careers including MC Shan who released three solo albums and produced various singles such as the hit “Informer” by Snow and “Da Bridge 2001” for Nas’ 2000 compilation album, “QB’s Finest.” |
According to the MC, “The new Juice Crew will be something different; not the ‘I slang drugs, I got jewelry’ rhymes; it’ll be more talented artists. We can make it any ole’ crew, but we want to make it something people know so it can carry on the legacy of the original crew.” |
