Joss Stone, who didn’t make the 2007 Grammy Awards, was finally given her Grammy for Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, as The Grammys kicked off their year long 50th Anniversary celebration in Los Angeles on May 8th. Joss, who won The Grammy award with John Legend and Van Hunt for their rendition of Sly and The Family Stone’s classic hit ‘Family Affair’ was on hand as Neil Portnow, Recording Academy President, surprised her with an impromptu ceremony at the press conference announcing the year long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of The Grammys. |
We caught up with Joss, just after receiving the award to discuss her thoughts on getting another Grammy Award. |
“But it was nice. It was very, very sweet. I was excited basically. I mean I was shaking a little bit. It was a bit embarassing because I thought I was going to drop it but I didn’t, thank god. No, it’s nice. When Angelica told me I got a Grammy I was a little bit ecstatic but when they gave it to me it was a different feeling and I don’t know why. It just is. It’s very different because, OK now this is real. It’s cool, I’m a happy chick. Today I’m in a good mood. Let’s just put it that way.” |
