JOSH KELLEY WEDS KATHERINE HEIGL

After a very romantic engagement, Josh Kelley and Katherine Heigl finally tied the knot on Sunday, December 23, and said he’s ready for married life.

Rocker Josh Kelley and longtime girlfriend Katherine Heigl were married at a resort in Park City, Utah on December 24, and it’s the end of a long and romantic courtship. The two met on the set of Kelley’s video, “Only You,” where Heigl portrayed the girl of his affections. It didn’t take long for the video treatment to become reality, and the two finally consummated their bond.

Heigl is currently at the top of the world starring as Dr. Izzie Stevens on “Grey’s Anatomy.” Kelley has had some critical acclaim with his albums, the latest being “Just Say The Word,” but his name doesn’t ring off the tongue of as many people as his wife’s name. We asked him if the disparity between fame and success in their respective careers could affect their marriage.

“You know, I had already gone through my phases before we met each other. We would have never gotten married if we weren’t adults and we weren’t ready for it. We’re past that. It’s not even about it. She’s proud of me, and I’m proud of her, and that’s really all that matters. I mean money is important because you want to feel comfortable with your life, but it’s that big of a motivation. As long as we take care of each other, that’s really the main goal. I want to see her do good (sic). Kick some butt. Get Daddy a new pro-tools rig or something. Shoot, let’s do it. It’s all good.”

The two are married and as previously reported by us there was a storybook proposal – but did Heigl think long about accepting Kelley’s proposal?

“No, man. She was immediate. She said, ‘yes.’ Even with a wad full of cake in her mouth. It feels great. It feels great. I did the thing, got down on one knee. Asked her dad, asked her mom, it was good. It was great.”

The honeymoon destination wasn’t immediately disclosed. Heigl most recently appeared in the film Knocked Up, and is currently in limbo with Grey’s Anatomy due to the writer’s strike. Kelley is readying a new CD, titled Special Company, which is set for a February 8 release.
