JOHN LEGEND LIKES TO KEEP IT ON THE LOW
Grammy Award winner John Legend is still promoting his platinum sophomore album, Once Again. The latest single from the project “PDA (We Just Don’t Care).” The singer recently shared that when it comes to public displays of affection, anything more than a kiss is unacceptable. The singer said, “I’m quite a private person but sometimes the mood just gets the better of you. You can get caught up in the moment….But I’ve never been caught doing anything more than kissing in public! I just don’t think it is right.” |
Legend, who will be performing at the Montreux Jazz Festival next month, also shared his thoughts on hip hop and the current state of R&B. He said, |
“I love hip hop and I’m not mad at hip hop being an influence in R&B. I do think there’s an absence of melody in a lot of song writing. I don’t need to lead a movement. I’m just doing it myself and if other people do it then that’s great. I think people like Ne-Yo are doing it. I think Alicia is doing it. There’s some artists that are writing good songs nowadays. There’s not a lot. There should be more but you know I don’t need to lead a movement. I’m just trying to make good albums for myself and the people I work with. And if everybody else is making bad ones then that’s fine. It makes it easier competition for me.” |
