JOHN LEGEND HONORED AT SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME EVENT
The Songwriters Hall of Fame inducted a new class last week in New York which included Don Black, Jackson Browne, Irving Burgie, Michael Masser, Bobby Weinstein and the late Teddy Randazzo. Singer John Legend was presented with the Hal David Starlight Award and it was presented by his friend and label head, Kanye West. Legend performed his hit, “Ordinary People,” at the event. |
Singer songwriter Sean Garrett also attended the event and he shared on the red carpet that he’s already recorded one song for Usher’s new album and that the two will be hitting the studio again soon. Garrett said, |
“No not at all, you know me and Usher are great friends and we always have a great time working with each other. We always challenge each other and he’s one of the best vocalist in the game. He always challenges me to write to greatest songs for him so it’s always a perfect fit.” |
Garrett wrote one of Usher’s biggest hits, “Yeah!” |
