JOHN LEGEND DODGES COMPARISON TO MARVIN GAYE

Multi Grammy Award winner John legend is currently gearing up for a tour in support of his platinum album, Once Again. The singer will be joined by Corrine Bailey Rae on the trek which kicks off next month.

At last month’s Grammy Awards, Legend was asked about being compared to Marvin Gaye. The singer said,

“Some people gotta slow down. I got a long way to go so I’m working on it. But he’s an idol of mine, he’s a hero of mine, and I listen to him a lot. If you hear some influence that’s because I’ve stolen it from him and I’m proud to do that. I mean people throw them names around a lot but you got to be careful about those things. I’m working on it. I have a long career ahead of me hopefully.”

In related news, Legend recently said that he’d be willing to work with Paris Hilton after hearing her single, “Stars Are Blind.” Legend said, “I thought it was a great song and should have done better even than it did. I’d do a song with her. It would be an interesting experience.”
