JOHN C. REILLY WORSHIPS WILL FERRELL
John C. Reilly, acting in character, talks about his affinity for Ricky Bobby, who is also known as funny man Will Ferrell. Keywords: Saturday Night Live. |
John C. Reilly stars as Cal Naughton, Jr., NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby’s number one wing man in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. When asked what it’s like to be Ricky’s team mate this is what he had to say. |
When told that Cal thinks of him as Jesus, Ricky Bobby was flattered but wouldn’t take credit for the holy compliment. Instead he offered his own personal favorite. |
“Well it’s an honor. It’s not every day you get to meet a human being like Ricky. It’s almost like at this time he’s achieved a God-like status. No offense to Jesus but he’s God like. So what’s it feel like to be God’s wing man? It feels awesome. It feels like an arc angel.” |
Cal Naughton Jr’s loyalty to Ricky Bobby goes way back as the two have been best friends since childhood. |
“I kind of have a soft spot for the baby Jesus and that’s just me. I’m not trying to cut down the other types of Jesus, like the teenage Jesus or a young man, young adolescent kind of almost a man Jesus, or barefoot Jesus or last supper Jesus. All those Jesus are fantastic, they’re great choices but for me it’s apples and oranges. I just like the baby Jesus best cause he’s cute, adorable and holy at the same time.” |
