JOAN ALLEN AIMS TO PROTECT BOURNE

Joan Allen returns to the number one film Bourne Ultimatum reprising her role as CIA chief Pamela Landy. Allen is the voice of reason in the CIA world gone crazy over believing Bourne may jeopardize their covert operations. |
Briarwood, an amped up arm of Treadstone will do whatever it takes to achieve their goal, even if it means taking in their own agents. Joan says her character may be the only person Bourne can trust. |
“She feels a connection to Jason Bourne and she’s really the only one out there saying ‘he’s one of our own. He’s an agent. We don’t really know what’s going on with him. He may be dangerous, he may not be. Why just kill him? Everybody wants to kill him. It’s not working. Why don’t we try to bring him in? And the more she finds out about Treadstone and what he’s in the middle of she becomes more and more aligned with him.” |
Pam Landy is unrelenting in her quest for the truth behind Briarwood. After speaking with several CIA agents for the role, Joan is convinced she couldn’t pull off the job in real life. |
“I could not be a spy for the United States of America. I talked to some real spies before I did this and when these women explained some of the situations that they had been in, one woman’s career 30 years in the CIA I was like, ‘wow how did you do that?’ How did you do that? I can’t imagine when the stakes are really real and you really are in situations where people’s lives are right in your hands. I could do it pretend. I couldn’t do the real thing.” |
Next Joan stars in the female road trip movie Bonneville with Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange. The Bourne Ultimatum is currently playing in theaters. |
