JINX DA JUVY LOOKING FOR NEW DEAL
Rapper Jinx Da Juvy was signed to Def Jam Records at the age of 15 after rap veteran Kool G Rap brought him to the attention of Lyor Cohen. The rapper has since left the label but he continues to have a mentor in Russell Simmons. The Def Jam founder moved the young rapper out of his Brooklyn neighborhood after he was shot and continues to guide his career. |
Jinx explained why he still hasn’t signed a new deal. He said |
“Every deal ain’t the right deal, you know what I mean? Every thing that glitter ain’t gold so it’s basically knowing, being aware. If you ain’t aware of nothing, you ain’t gonna get your money right, know what I’m sayin’? So I’ve been down for awhile and I’m aware of certain things so I know how to move as far as what I want to sign. That’s why I’m still unsigned and learning knowledge from Rus.” |
Jinx Da Juvy has appeared on albums by Hi-Tek, Funkmaster Flex & Big Kap, and Kool G Rap. |
