JIN LEAVES RUFF RYDERS
Asian battle rapper Jin, who earned a recording contract with the Ruff Ryders after winning BET’s 106 & Park freestyle competition, has parted ways with the label. The rapper will release his new album, Jin Presents: The Emcee’s Properganda, on his own independent label, CraftyPlugz, on October 25th. The first single from the set is “Top 5” featuring Kool Herc. |
Jin explained the Ruff Ryders were cool with his decision. He said, |
“Well you know it’s actually still cool with them, you know what I’m sayin’? We didn’t end on bad terms. You know it’s just that I had to come to a point where I wanted to do something independent. And then you know they’re supportive of it so that’s cool.” |
The rapper released his debut album, The Rest Is History, in 2004. |
