JEWEL CD ABOUT BEING FOOLED BY LOVE
Jewel recently contributed “Quest For Love” to the Arthur and the Invisibles soundtrack, and she says her new album is about misguided love. |
Jewel wrote “Quest For Love” for the movie Arthur & The Invisibles, and she recently appeared as a judge on American Idol. She saw first hand how the biggest competition works so she can bring it back to the country talent contest program she hosts called Nashville Star. |
The Alaskan singer, who got her break with the song “Who Will Save Your Soul,” says that with her new album Goodbye Alice In Wonderland she’s on to different things. |
“It’s sort of about growing up. A lot of fantasies that we’re raised with idolizing and holding dear to our hearts, I think when you grow up you see the world as so different and that makes you sometimes disillusioned. The record deals with how to find romance in reality sort of.” |
Jewel also talked about writing “Quest For Love” for Arthur And The Invisibles. |
“Uh, they just approached me. They said watch this movie and see if it does anything for you and see if you feel like writing a title track for it. It was great. I’m a huge fan of animated films. I watch as many of those at the theaters as the other. I was excited. I’ve always wanted to write a song for animated film. I think what’s great when you write a song for a movie is that you write something you just never would have written on your own sitting down in your house because you’re thinking about those characters and what they’re going through.” |
Jewel recently filmed a performance for PBS soundstage which will air February 15. Jewel hosts Nashville Star every Thursday on USA Networks. |
