JET HAVING FUN AGAIN WITH VIRAL KIA
Jet are trying to start fresh with their new album Shaka Rock, released this August, but until then they’re starting a virus. |
One gets the feeling that Jet was hung over from Get Born’s success when they wrote Shine On. While the music is acceptable, the band admits that they may have lost some of their enthusiasm and the fun-loving nature of their first album, Get Born. The band went through that album/tour cycle having lost their father, who passed away due to cancer, and that understandably may have contributed to the band being a bit down during that time. The band is getting ready to release their third album, Shaka Rock, in August, but they have given fans a little taste of the album. They released a viral video for “K.I.A.,” which stands for Killed In Action, and if you find it, you’ll agree it’s not the standard MTV or Fuse fare. |
Chris and Nic Cester say that K.I.A. was an attempt to have some fun. |
“It’s pretty disgusting isn’t it? I think we just really wanted to have some fun with it again, like you were saying. We are naturally enthusiastic people, and it’s kind of reactionary to like the dark, and the deep, and the sorrowful, and the mournful record that was shine on, which had to happen, and it did happen. Now we have the options of, ‘OK, we’re doing a music video. Let’s not spend, like, 400 grand. Let’s not get too deep with this. Let’s have some fun. Let’s slice someone’s head off and get crazy.'” |
Fans can go to the band’s website jettheband.com or their Myspace page to view the video, which poses as a movie trailer. We’ll have more from the Cester brothers later on. rn |
