Jermaine Dupri and his writing partner Johnta Austin were the big winners at the 24th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards which were held on Wednesday, April 18th, at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, California. Dupri and Austin shared songwriter of the year honors and the songs “Because of You,” and “Be Without You” tied for song of the year. |
Johntá Austin and Jermaine Dupri with won six awards each; Kelly Clarkson, Green Day, Mikkel Eriksen (PRS), Tor Hermansen (PRS) and Timbaland won three awards each; and The All-American Rejects’ Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler, BeyoncĂ©, Danger Mouse, The Fray’s Joe King and Isaac Slade, Sean Garrett, LRoc, Sean Paul, Rob Thomas and Justin Timberlake won two awards each. |
