JEREMY RENNER WRITES DEATH ROW
(VIDEO) 12 & Holding star Jeremy Renner wrote to death row inmates to research his next film. |
In preparation for his next role as a death row inmate in Crossing Paths,12 and Holding star Jeremy Renner has become pen pals with the dead men walking at San Quentin state prison in California. Renner is writing to them, and talking with wardens to imagine a day in their life. |
Through his correspondence with death row inmates, Jeremy discovered what some requests have been for their last meals. |
“They all have their own website at San Quentin in California. It’s kind of creepy, kind of creepy. They talk about why they’re there, their life in there and write stories and kind of just share stories. What a day in the life is like there and when there is an execution what that’s like. The feel of it. Some of them are really actually eloquent writers. They talk about how tepid the air, the sounds about every sort of sensory which is really fantastic you know.” |
Oddly enough Jeremy Renner is familiar with the subject matter. He was in the film Love Comes To the Executioner about a young man who is hired as an executioner where his brother sits on death row.rn |
“Some of them are limited to 20 dollars and whatever the kitchen provides. Some of them are a little bit more extravagant depending on the state or whatever.” |
