JEREMY NORTHAM TAKEN BY BODY SNATCHERS

Jeremy Northam is invaded by body snatchers in The Invasion.

Jeremy Northam stars in The Invasion, the third telling of the Jack Finney novel Invasion of The Body Snatchers which was originally written as a magazine serial in 1956.

Jeremy plays Nicole Kidman’s ex-husband and father of her son whose body is invaded overnight by an alien life force, cloning him while he sleeps.

“An idea like this is believable. Of course it’s a fantasy but hopefully it’s tending towards a kind of allegory. It’s a sort of a fable for our present day where things aren’t to be taken too literally.”

Jeremy says the thriller has a deeper message than aliens invading.

“People are saying and talking about it’s a film about aliens. I think it’s much less a film about aliens than the way that we react to the threat of something, something unknown; something more fearful because it’s unknown. It fits for me more into a thriller category than Sci Fi or anything else.”

The Invasion features Veronica Cartwright as a patient of Nicole Kidman’s psychiatrist who starred in the 1978 remake.
