JEREMY NORTHAM TAKEN BY BODY SNATCHERS
Jeremy Northam is invaded by body snatchers in The Invasion. |
Jeremy Northam stars in The Invasion, the third telling of the Jack Finney novel Invasion of The Body Snatchers which was originally written as a magazine serial in 1956. |
Jeremy plays Nicole Kidman’s ex-husband and father of her son whose body is invaded overnight by an alien life force, cloning him while he sleeps. |
“An idea like this is believable. Of course it’s a fantasy but hopefully it’s tending towards a kind of allegory. It’s a sort of a fable for our present day where things aren’t to be taken too literally.” |
Jeremy says the thriller has a deeper message than aliens invading. |
“People are saying and talking about it’s a film about aliens. I think it’s much less a film about aliens than the way that we react to the threat of something, something unknown; something more fearful because it’s unknown. It fits for me more into a thriller category than Sci Fi or anything else.” |
The Invasion features Veronica Cartwright as a patient of Nicole Kidman’s psychiatrist who starred in the 1978 remake. |
