JASON STATHAM MELLOWS OUT FOR WAR
Jason Statham’s stunts in War aren’t as hardcore as they have been in previous films. |
Don’t expect Jason Statham to be doing the same kinds of sick stunts he did in Crank for War where he plays a rogue FBI agent in pursuit of Jet Li’s assassin who murdered his partner. |
Jason agrees the story called for a bit tamer stunt action than Crank. |
“You could be right. I mean it’s hard to top the ridiculousness of the old Crank movie. Yeah this is certainly more tame for obvious reasons. This is a bit more of a darker story. It’s a bit more of a thriller. Crank was a bit more out there if you like. Yeah they always get me doing that. I’m like this human bowling ball I suppose. Yeah it seems to be something required of me these days.” |
What’s required of Jason in War is jumping off buildings and smashing through windows which is really made of something called sugar glass which isn’t edible but does the trick. |
“Well I don’t know if you want to eat it but they call it sugar glass yeah. It sounds different than it really sounds on the day. I mean you can’t throw us through plate glass windows. That would be the end of it, so yeah it’s pretty safe. You just got to watch it doesn’t go in your eyes and you’re fine. I’m always nursing an injury or two. There’s always a muscle that doesn’t heal or a joint that’s causing a bit of pain but you kind of become immune to that feeling.” |
Jason might be nursing some war wounds for his next project, a remake of 1995’s Death Race 2000 which he’s shooting in Montreal. War is currently playing in theaters. |
