JASON MRAZ ANSWERS FANS FOR GRAMMY

Jason Mraz recently took a break from his busy touring schedule to do a Grammy Soundchecks session with fans in the Los Angeles area this past weekend. “Soundchecks” is a Grammy Foundation mentoring program designed to give kids the reality of entering into a career in the music business. |
The event took place at the Wiltern in late afternoon on Sunday (November 4) and Mraz answered questions and shared details about what he does. Mraz, who was not microphoned at the event, gave fans a gimpse into his songwriting process. |
“I just have to be true to that person and so I start with relationships and usually when I’m digging in there I’ll think of another lesson that I may have learned or a mistake I think I’ve made. Sometimes I’ll write a song about that. I think… It’s fun for me two write something as writer that teaches me something or helps me overcome something. I’m a big fan of new age books and spiritual books and I like to incorporate some of that in my music. Take a somewhat awkward or negative situation and always find an optimistic outlook.” |
Mraz continues his generous ways. He will play a benefit for the choir in his High School on December 11. The performance will take place at the Lee Davis High School in Mechanicsville, Virginia. He’ll join with the chorus for “Song For A Friend.” |
