JAMIE FOXX LOVES DREAMGIRLS, GIVES PROPS TO BEYONCE

Jamie Foxx stars as Curtis in Dreamgirls, and he talks about his role and his thoughts on Beyonce.

Jamie Foxx stars as Curtis in the movie Dreamgirls, and the underhanded way his character operates in the film has drawn ire from not only movie goers but from other celebrities. Of course this means that Foxx has done a convincing job in his role.

Foxx talked about what his character is about in the film.

“Curtis is just a guy trying to get in. He just loves music, he sees his way in, he sees…has an agressive attitude, and assertiveness and actually makes some things happen with his own dream. Somewhere suring his dream it started to get cloudy and he started to understand what it was really about.”

He added that he’s a big fan of Beyonce and was impressed by her acting chops.

“Beyonce Knowles who is already a songstress, a beautiful songbird when she opens her mouth. It’s so compelling now to see her drama and her acting muscle being flexed in this way that by the time she opens her mouth to sing, it’s too much.”

Dreamgirls opened on Christmas Day, and it’s the third all-time Christmas Day debut film topped only by Ali and Catch Me If You can. So far it has been released in limited theaters, and it will increase distribution to theaters everywhere by January 12.
