JAMES MARSDEN MARVELS OVER SUPERMAN

James Marsden is such a great sport, as Richard White in Superman Returns. Here he is about to be dumped by his fiancé Lois Lane for the Man of Steel in Superman Returns and he can’t help but say wonderful things about him. Actually James is praising the performance of Brandon Routh, who is following in the red boots of Christopher Reeve.

In the film Richard White is essentially the rebound relationship after Lois Lane played by Kate Bosworth thinks she’s lost her love Superman. James says Kate nailed the innocence and the strength of the Daily Planet reporter.

“It was amazing how much he looked like Christopher Reeve because you stand next to him on set and you go, ‘yeah he’s a great looking guy,’ but some transformation takes place when they roll the camera. Also a lot of the stuff I was doing with him was when he was Clark Kent which he does fantastically. Just great stumbling, bumbling Clark and does it to a T. So it was interesting standing on set talking and seeing the transformation take place when the cameras start rolling and he kind of turns into Clark Kent. It’s really amazing.”

Next James Marsden does get the girl, a princess in fact for his Prince Edward in Enchanted currently shooting in New York.rn

“Kate is wonderful. Kate is bringing I think an innocence to Lois, a very powerful innocence if that makes any sense. She’s playing a character who’s very strong, very intelligent but also a very kind of underlying fragility to the character which I think is really nice juxtaposed with that very smart Pulitzer prize winning reporter. It’s nice to see those layers get stripped off of Lois and I think Kate is doing it marvelously.”
