R&B singer Jaheim took a four year break from the recording industry to start his own non-profit organization, The Urban Dreams Foundation, but now the singer is back. His new album, Ghetto Classics, is scheduled to hit stores on Valentine’s Day, february 14th. The first single from the project is “Everytime I Think About Her” featuring Jadakiss. |
With the passing of Luther Vandross last year, there’s a big void in the R&B world but Jaheim isn’t so eager to try to fill those shoes. He said, |
“That Luther shoe is a bog shoe, for real. I’ve been studying Luther for years. It’s not easy to sing a Luther song at all. It’s hard but you know I grew up under that umbrella. A lot of people came up under the Stevie Wonder, the Michael Jackson era. That’s all we hear today is Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder riffs. You know everybody you name it. I followed the right path when I was child. My grandfather was a soul singer. He sang with the Drifters so it like passed down.” |
Ghetto Classics will feature production by Scott Storch, KayGee, Darren Lighty, and Eric Williams. |
