JAGGED EDGE SWITCHES IT UP
R&B quartet Jagged Edge will release their fifth studio album, Jagged Edge, in December. The group released the set’s lead single, “So Amazing” featuring Voltio, this month. The song is a departure from the signature ballads that have made the group a mainstay in R&B over the years. |
Group member Brandon explained the decision to switch it up. He said, |
“Like we consider ourselves to be true artists, you know not just performers, not just singers, but true artists in the fact that we create our music. I think people know us for the ballads. They know we gonna come with one of those ballads that a lot of people gonna like. We want to let people know there’s other things that we do. You know we put out a couple of fast records but you know our career has been dominated by ballads so that was one of the reasons we wanted to go with ‘So Amazing.'” |
Jagged Edge has released four albums-to-date. The group’s 1998 debut album, A Jagged Era, was certified gold. The outfit’s 2000 sophomore offering, J.E. Heartbreak, was their breakthrough set and sold more than 2 million copies. Jagged Edge’s released their third album, Jagged Little Thrill, in 2001. The set was certified platinum and its follow-up, 2003’s Hard, was certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies. |
