JACKMAN AND KIDMAN SING HEARTS OUT IN HAPPY FEET

Tony winning star Hugh Jackman got to show off his singing chops as the penguin Memphis in the animated musical Happy Feet who sings sexy heart songs to woo his fluffy wife Norma Jean.

Mama penguin Norma Jean is played by Nicole Kidman who takes on a breathy singing voice dueting with Jackman on Kiss. Her other love is her baby Mumble, a penguin outcast who can’t sing a note. Nicole related to that unconditional love.

“I sang one Elvis song Heartbreak Hotel which felt a little sacrilegious singing that song but it was great fun as that character. And he uses that song to seduce his wife Norma Jean. It was great fun. Then I sang the Prince song Kiss and we just had such fun. I remember being in that sound studio actually working on that song and after awhile I realized I was sweating. I was dancing. I was getting into it and behind that glass wall I could see everyone just laughing their heads off.”

Happy Feet also stars Robin Williams, Elijah Wood, and Brittany Murphy opening today in theaters. rn
