IS THERE MORE ACTING IN THE FUTURE FOR RONNIE JAMES DIO?
After his roll in Tenacious D’s new film ‘The Pick of Destiny’ Ronnie James Dio talks about his future on the silver screen. |
Ronnie James Dio has had quite a distinguished career as one of heavy metals most beloved vocalists performing with Black Sabbath, Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow and Dio, but does Ronnie have more dreams of the silver screen? |
In Tenacious D’s new film ‘Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny’, Dio makes a cameo appearance and in the soundtrack to the film, Dio also provides vocals in the Tenacious D song entitled Kickapoo. But how did the collaboration begin? Well, Tenacious D has a song entitled “Dio” on their 2001 album, and after the tribute to Dio, the band asked for him to stop playing rock music and allow them to fill his shoes. Dio liked the song enough to let the band appear in his next music video “Push.” So how does Ronnie feel about acting? |
“I don’t act. That was just me. That’s not acting. I was just lucky enough that Jack and Kyle asked me to do it, and it was a joy. It was wonderful to do. The film is funny.” |
Ronnie James Dio is set to hit the road as Heaven and Hell with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinnie Appice. Bill Ward was confirmed for the project but he has since announced his withdrawal. The band will be playing new material as well as material from each muscians extensive catalog of hits. Heaven And Hell’s world tour will kick off March 11 in Vancouver, British Columbia and the band will tour throughout the year. |
