IRON MAIDEN DARK FATHERS DAY FOR LAUREN HARRIS IN NYC
Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris has daughter Lauren Harris opening for them, and she talks about father’s day and a dark moment in MSG. |
Iron Maiden mastermind Steve Harris has brought the new band of daughter Lauren Harris out on the road for their current U.S. tour, but they both ran into a bit of a snag at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (June 15). The lights went out during the Father’s Day show, and the band broke out into a soccer game until power could be restored. |
Lauren was asked if she saw what happened. |
“I didn’t. I was in the shower, and I had just gotten out and was just drying my hair. I know that ‘Powerslave’ was on because I could hear it and then I heard it just stop. So I want outside just to see what was going on, and there was obviously a power cut they got the football out and were playing football and stuff like that. It’s pretty funny. I think it happened there the last time as well that they were there.” |
And in a rare occurrence, Lauren Harris was on the road with father Steve Harris for father’s day. So how did they celebrate? |
“Do you know what? I was so just freaking out about playing at the Garden yesterday and getting so excited and worried and scared all at the same time. Me and my sister actually bought presents together, and we didn’t even give them to him. I only saw him twice that night, actually, because it was so hectic. We kind of had people backstage and stuff. [Bass player] Randy [Gregg] is from New York so his family was hanging out. So I think we’re going to sit down with him today and give him his presents. That’s really bad, isn’t it?” |
Lauren Harris is touring in advance of her new album Calm Before The Storm which is set to hit stores June 23. She’ll be touring with Maiden throughout the summer and then she’s looking to hop on a fall tour. |
